Summary:

This role is responsible for all of the Printed Circuit Board Assembly production activities including, but not limited to hands-on assembling (stencil printing, pick and place programming, thermal profiling reflow oven, etc), scheduling production, purchasing, QC, and inventory.

You will help with procedures and processes, budgeting, and creating goals. You take pride in your work, constantly try to improve, and truly understand the importance of quality, safety, and meeting deadlines.

Essential Functions:

  • Create production schedules for current and new customer assemblies.
  • Help make decisions on staffing requirements, work procedures and assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints.
  • Coordinate production and processing activities.
  • Review operations and suggest ways to resolve production or processing problems.
  • Help hire, manage, train, evaluate, or discharge staff or resolve personnel grievances.
  • Review plans and confer with staff to develop new products or processes.
  • Manage and implement appropriate production improvement processes, tools and equipment to improve production efficiency to establish goals.
  • Be responsible for the entire assembly process. I.E. creating assembly books, programming SMT machines, hand placing/soldering components, inspection/QC, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned. If you want a narrowly defined role, do not apply.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree preferred, but not required
  • A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a PCB assembly work with 100 or less employees.
  • Experience working within quality systems (ISO and IPC).
  • Experience with every process of the PCB (printed circuit board) through-hole and SMT production process.
    • Scheduling/Planning
    • Ordering
    • Soldering
    • Screen printing
    • Pick and Place (programming, operating, etc)
    • SPI/AOI (programming, operating, etc)
    • Reflow (profiling, etc)
    • QC/Rework (Inspection, BGAs, etc)
  • Experience with bare board and component ordering.
  • Equipment maintenance experience desirable.
  • J-STD certified preferred
  • ANSI/ESD S20.20 trained preferred

Physical Demands:

  • Physical demands are those of a typical office/manufacturing environment. Must occasionally lift and/or move items up to 35 pounds
  • Lifting and moving around components, carts, and boxes.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be detail oriented and organized
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Must be able to multi-task and work well under pressure
  • Must be a quick learner and enjoy learning new things
  • Ability to set priorities and achieve results.
  • Ability to apply technical expertise to solve problems.
  • Ability to efficiently take a project from start to finish including anticipating needs, organizing, developing clear objectives, ensuring accountability, and providing contingency plans if necessary
  • Experience with Fab software
  • Experience working with Excel and Word

Summary:

The Solder Technician is responsible for hand placing/soldering through-hole and SMT parts on CCB's quick turn PCB assembly floor. You are an "assembly specialist" that can hand solder/place 0201+ components without breaking a sweat. You enjoy the challenge of reworking small lead-less components and don't back down from challenging components.

Essential Functions:

  • Assembly of low to medium volume PCBAs to exacting standards
  • Interprets customer specifications and assembly drawings
  • Rework components as needed
  • Promotes a sense of urgency and teamwork
  • Ensures safety by maintaining the highest safety standards
  • Inspects and measures assemblies to verify conformance to specifications
  • Participates in cross-training to eliminate single points of failure
  • Helps ensure procedures and records are current and ready for any audits
  • Work extended hours based on company needs and be available for after hour emergency calls
  • Other duties as assigned. If you want a narrowly defined role, do not apply.

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 to 2 years' experience
  • Knowledge of bare boards and electrical components
  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years’ experience soldering to IPC Standards (Class II and III)
  • J-STD certified a plus
  • ANSI/ESD S20.20 trained a plus
